About Dr. Glivar
Dr. Glivar grew up in the Midwest, in both Ohio and Illinois. After attending college at Northwestern University and medical school at the University of Illinois at Chicago, he went on to complete a residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at Loma Linda University. He spent a year on the East Coast in North Carolina doing a fellowship in Adult Spinal Surgery at Duke University. His training included exposure to spinal pathology, including degenerative, deformity, and traumatic.
He has experience in various surgical techniques, including traditional open procedures, minimally invasive surgery, and navigated and robotic technologies. His fellowship program featured an integrated program between Orthopaedic Surgery and Neurosurgery. Dr. Glivar enjoys the complexity and challenge of spine care and the ability to make a significant impact on his patients’ quality of life.
Dr. Glivar has always had a passion for learning and pursuing his interests to the fullest. His early background playing various sports, practicing competitive powerlifting, and maintaining an extensive exercise and fitness regimen aligned his interests in medicine toward musculoskeletal health. A fascination with science and a desire to help others, provided a strong foundation for a career in medicine.
Dr. Glivar is Board Eligible in Orthopaedic Surgery. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and North American Spine Society.
