Mark Seifert, MD

About Dr. Seifert

Dr. Mark Seifert was born and raised near Cincinnati, Ohio. He attended St. Gertrude Grammar School and Madera High School. While in grammar school he sang in a liturgical choir for 5 years. While attending Madera High School he pursued interests in amateur astronomy, chemistry and even taught himself to play Renaissance and Baroque lute music on classical guitar. Graduating valedictorian from Madera High School, he was awarded a full tuition and board scholarship to Harvard University, where he later obtained a BA cum laude in Biochemistry with a minor in Indian studies. After Harvard University he attended University of Cincinnati College of Medicine.

In 1977 he began a five year residency in Pathology at Los Angeles County/University of Southern California (LAC/USC) Medical Center where he attended infectious disease rounds. Ultimately, he finished with a fellowship in Lung, Kidney, and Microbial Pathology.

In 1986 he began working with Braunstein and Stewart, Inc. at the old San Bernardino Medical Center. He has remained with the group which is now known as Arrowhead Pathology Medical Group, and expanded his expertise to Microbiology. He continues to pursue his interests in amateur astronomy, history of science and medicine, and most of all, playing Renaissance and Baroque lutes, even giving lute concerts to classical guitar students at University of Redlands.
