About Dr. Elsissy
Joseph Elsissy is an orthopedic trauma specialist who currently serves as the Director of the Orthopedic Trauma service at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center. Dr. Elsissy received his Bachelor’s degree from University of California Riverside before moving on to University of California Los Angeles to complete his degree in medicine. He completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at Loma Linda University. Following his orthopedic residency, he completed his training with an adult trauma fellowship at University of California San Diego.
Dr. Elsissy utilizes his trauma training as an avenue for education and service. He has spent time in Haiti performing surgical procedures and plans to continue his service overseas in various locations. He enjoys his role as an educator as he gets to work with a number of students and residents regularly in his position. He is a member of a number of professional orthopedic trauma societies such as Orthopedic Trauma Association and AO North America.
Dr. Elsissy specializes in the treatment of complex fractures and polytraumatized patients including complex periarticular injuries as well as injuries of the pelvis and acetabulum. He also treats complex trauma issues such as non-unions, mal-unions, and osteomyelitis.
Dr. Elsissy enjoys spending his free time cooking, traveling, golfing, skiing, hockey, and spending time with family and friends.
