Dr. Ahmad Ibrahim Appointed Chairman of Laboratory Medicine Department at ARMC

Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Ahmad Ibrahim, M.D., as the new Chair of the Department of Laboratory Medicine.
Dr. Ibrahim joined the ARMC team as a pathologist in 2020 and has served as the Department of Laboratory Medicine Vice Chair since 2022 and Chairman of the Blood Utilization Review Committee since 2024.
Dr. Ibrahim's career includes several key positions, including roles at LA General Medical Center and Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California (USC) in Los Angeles. There, he served as Co-Chief of Cytopathology Fellows, followed by appointments as a Clinical Instructor and then as a Clinical Faculty Member. He is currently a Clinical Assistant Professor at the California University of Science and Medicine in Colton, where he instructs medical students and delivers lectures in pathology.
Dr. Ibrahim completed his Pathology Residency at Ascension St. John Hospital in Detroit, Michigan, as well as three fellowships in Cytopathology, Surgical (Selective) Pathology and GI/Liver pathology at the LA General and USC Keck Medical Centers. He holds a medical degree from the University of Baghdad School of Medicine in Baghdad, Iraq.
Dr. Ibrahim’s journey to become a pathologist started by working as a research coordinator and research fellow in the pathology department-tissue bank for The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) Project and Breast Surgical Oncology Division at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Dr. Ibrahim's vision for ARMC's Department of Laboratory Medicine is to remain current with laboratory advancements to achieve accurate diagnoses for patients, provide support to clinical teams, and contribute to ARMC's ongoing teaching and research efforts. Dr. Ibrahim is a member of multiple medical societies.
