Arrowhead Regional Medical Center's (ARMC) Health Information Management (HIM) Department recently received a 2021 Timeliness Award from the California Department of Public Health – Vital Records (CDPH-VR) during the this years Birth Data Quality Workshop.
The CDPH-VR maintains birth, death, fetal death/still birth, marriage, and divorce records for California. Moreover, the Vital Records Data and Statistics from CDPH cover a wide variety of health topics suitable for community health assessments, research for government and private studies, and public inquiry. In addition to documenting these vital events, the statistical data derived from these records is used to develop a health status profile for the State of California.
Timeliness awards are given to the hospitals that have submitted 95% or more of their birth certificates to their local registration district within five days of birth during the period of January 01, 2021 to December 31, 2021. The HIM department at ARMC not only contributes to the success of the San Bernardino County's local registration district but ensures California birth records get registered in a timely manner.
